The NBA announced today a Hispanic marketing campaign under the name “éne-bé-a.”
The most remarkable part is that they managed to make twomistakes in the Spanish spelling of the NBA.
In Spanish, the spelling of the letters doesn’t need an accent. It should simply be “ene-be-a.” On top of that, adding the accents makes it hard to read.
While the concept of the campaign seems very solid, with TV, radio and web components; the name shows that even comprehensive campaigns fail in the most basic aspects, like correct spelling.
